Giving Up Smoking

Smoking contributes to one third of all cancer deaths, with 90% of lung cancer deaths being directly linked. 17% of deaths from heart disease are also smoking related. The NHS spends £2.7 billion a year treating disease caused by smoking.

Our practice is committed to helping smokers quit and we regularly prescribe nicotine replacement products, such as patches, or tablets if suitable. Alternatively, we can refer you to the ‘Time To Quit’ smoking cessation programme. Please speak to the doctor or practice nurse if you are interested in giving up smoking, or follow the link below for further advice.
